Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in his distinctive style. She's performed on Broadway, in the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Her real name is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates in Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing as well as playing the piano at churches. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship in Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice, Stalk You A House 12, was released only in Japan. It's been remixed several times, and has become a staple in her live performance. The Fighting Temptations was the second soundtrack that she sang on. In 2005 she was hired as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing she asked Sunshine to be part of the Dreamgirls production at the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was at the center of attention for the nation during 4 performances a day during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be invited to sing for President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
