Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television personality in the United States as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. With her signature spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals straightforward, simple techniques to master to cook at home on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of the top New York establishments, learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions, and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell, who grew up in New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America is where she went following her graduation with an English diploma and Communications certificate at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great experience. It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian philosophy and culture, and has made an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of children who are struggling. Burrell is also an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate, where she promotes awareness of juvenile diabetics. In her capacity as a guest speaker and teacher she travels across the US to talk about her love for cooking and career. Anne always felt fortunate that she was able to share her passion that she had for cooking with others.
